but it is wide from a maximum of 1.2 kilometers to a minimum of only 23 meters where you can see both the lagoon and the sea.

Pedal between the Murazzi and the Lagoon
From our inn, you can easily rent a bike and set off to explore the Murazzi, the majestic Istrian stone dam that protects the island.
Cycle around the island, passing by the picturesque casoni (typical fishermen’s huts in the middle of the lagoon) and discover its inland villages as you ride along its shores.
In the area between Pellestrina and the Ca’ Roman Nature Reserve, the Adriatic Sea and the Venice Lagoon are separated only by this 23-meter-wide dam.
The route is a journey between the sea and the lagoon, with breathtaking views.
Relax on the natural beaches
Just a stone’s throw from our inn, let yourself be amazed by the pristine beaches of Pellestrina.

After a day of exploring, come back to enjoy traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients and traditional recipes: mussel sauté, “caparossoli“, sardines in saor and much more, accompanied by the finest local wines.
During the summer months, from June to September, festivals and popular events also take place, with tastings of local dishes and musical performances that enliven the island, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in Pellestrina’s traditions and sample typical lagoon cuisine.
Ca' Roman and uncontaminated nature
You can also reach the beautiful Ca’ Roman nature reserve by bike, riding along the sea walls. Alternatively, you can take the vaporetto or walk.
A natural oasis of excellence that surrounds and preserves a World War II bunker.
The reserve is an area protected by the WWF and LIPU, with its natural and wild beaches, pine forest and spontaneous vegetation, it is a place of peace and tranquility.

Visit the Southern Lagoon Museum
San Pietro in Volta, where our inn is located, is the oldest village in Pellestrina.
Here you can also find the Small Museum of the Southern Lagoon, founded in 2007, where you can discover the history of the island, the Murazzi, fishing, and the terrible flood of 1966.
Visit the Pellestrina rowing club
Discover the world of Venetian rowing and the island’s typical rowing boats, from the caorlina to the sandalo, from the mascarete to the most famous Venetian gondolas.
The traditional Pellestrina regatta is held on the first Sunday of August, a highly anticipated event that attracts hundreds of rowing enthusiasts to the island.

Where the small sanctuary stands today, on August 4, 1716, the Madonna is said to have appeared to a local boy, Natalino Scarpa dei Mutti, predicting the victory of the Christians against the Turks.
