Where we are

The island is internally divided into the centers of San Pietro in Volta, Portosecco and Pellestrina.

Locanda Stravedo is located in San Pietro in Volta, a central spot on the island within easy reach of Venice’s historic center, the Lido, Chioggia, and Sottomarina.

A car ferry service is available year-round for those who need to reach the island with their own car.

The main road is the Strada Comunale dei Murazzi, which runs the entire length of the island: this is the route of the only bus (line 11: Pellestrina-Lido).

At the northern end, in the locality of Santa Maria del Mare, the ferry (passengers, cars and buses) that connects the island to the Lido departs and arrives, while the southern end is connected by vaporetto (for passengers and bicycles only) to Chioggia, stopping at Ca’ Roman.

How to arrive

VENICE

Venice is spread over 118 islands and is divided into six districts:

San Marco, Castello, Cannaregio, San Polo, Santa Croce, Dorsoduro

If the Sestiere di San Marco is the historic centre of Venice, Piazza San Marco is undoubtedly its beating heart.

Defined by many as “the most beautiful living room in the world,” this square has always been the center of Venetian life, with its famous cafés and the atmosphere of an ancient city of world trade.

In summer, Venice celebrates the Feast of the Redeemer on the third Saturday of July: countless boats gather in St. Mark’s Basin to watch the fantastic fireworks display. An event not to be missed.

Also noteworthy are the Biennale art exhibition (during the summer at the Giardini della Biennale) and the famous Venice Carnival (in February).

CHIOGGIA

The historic center of the city stands at the southern end of the lagoon, on a group of small islands between bridges and canals. Unlike Venice, much of the area is accessible by car and public transport.

The city of Chioggia is a lively seaside town with a herringbone layout, a Venetian-style urban center, and its characteristic houses, narrow streets, and fish market. It is definitely worth a visit.

LIDO DI VENEZIA

Con la vicina isola di Pellestrina costituisce la municipalità del comune di Venezia.

The Lido beach is famous for its natural sand dunes and clean water. The beach huts that characterize the island’s beach resorts have hosted artists and celebrities, giving it a special charm.

Every year the Venice Film Festival is held at the Lido, attracting actors and film stars from all over the world.
